Aalo e Vaka – T-Shirt Design
Drawn By Sully Paea & Designed Ennaolla Paea-Vaega
When we say “Aalo e Vaka” we speak to the journey, the canoe that carries us, and the people who paddle together. Aalo e Vaka means to paddle your canoe.
In celebration of Vagahau Niue (Niuean Language), we include “Aalo fakamalolo” to paddle with strength and “aalo fakalataha” to paddle united.
This holds a part of the story, Sully continues to carve and share. This shirt is a reminder that no matter where the winds blow, if we paddle as one, we will navigate our way through.
Community Impact:
Profits from this T-shirt will pour back into community carving initiatives, helping our community connect with their culture, learn the skills of our ancestors, and carve out not just wood, but their futures. By buying this shirt, you’re not only wearing our story – you’re investing in it.
